Sloop Clearwater Tradeshow Booth

Sailing on the Sloop Clearwater is a magical experience forged in community, education, and environmental stewardship. Originally built as an initiative to restore and protect the natural ecosystem of the Hudson River, we could not have been more excited when the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater reached out to us to help them in this endeavor. We were tasked with building a mobile Sloop model to take their education pursuits on the road. Beautifully designed and crafted by our experienced woodworkers, the Sloop model is a wood chest designed to fit all the pieces needed to teach the basics of sailing a sloop on the Hudson River. Made out of poplar and maple wood and painted “Clearwater Green,” the Sloop model is durable yet easily modular for a wide range of audiences and environments.

In addition to the Sloop model, we were also tasked to create a rustic scroller map to showcase significant points along the Hudson River. Starting from USGS maps, our graphic designers and woodcrafters got to work to create a weathered map and case that can be easily manipulated to show various points along a 100 mile stretch of the Hudson River. Paired with the Sloop model, the scroller map is transportable enough to teach the rich history and culture of the Hudson River to a wide variety of audiences, both inland and ashore.
